The Age-Friendly DC 2018-2023 Strategic Plan Progress Evaluation measured the city's progress in creating a more age-friendly environment. Launched in January 2023, the evaluation assessed interventions across 14 domains, residents' attitudes toward aging, and barriers to healthy aging.
Using data from Task Force members, the DC Livability Survey, and focus groups, the evaluation highlighted improvements in outdoor accessibility, community support through DC Villages, and use of Paid Family Leave. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, DC adapted its efforts, continuing progress in key areas. This report summarizes achievements and invites residents to help shape the 2024-2028 plan.
