The 2012-2017 Five-Year Progress Report to the World Health Organization outlines DC’s transformation across ten key areas, such as housing, transportation, and health services, while the 2015 Progress Report tracks further efforts using the WHO's framework.
The 2018-2023 Strategic Plan focuses on accessible housing, health services, and social inclusion, laying the groundwork for future age-friendly improvements. The 2020 Two-Year Progress Report highlights policy changes, expanded resources, and DC's adaptability during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2018-2023 Progress Evaluation Report assesses progress, including successes in outdoor accessibility and community support through DC Villages.
Building on these findings, the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan aims to enhance the built environment, attitudes toward aging, and lifelong health security.
The 2024 Livability Survey provides critical data on aging-related challenges, including accessibility, safety, and social connections, to guide ongoing efforts.
