2024 Livability Survey Report

Sunday, September 1, 2024

The 2024 Age-Friendly DC Livability Survey, adapted from tools used by the World Health Organization and AARP, collects essential data to guide aging-related initiatives in the city. Conducted between June 1st and July 19th, 2024, and analyzed in August 2024, the survey includes 45 questions that offer insights into how well the community is aging and informs the Age-Friendly DC strategic plan. Key findings highlight ongoing challenges, including better accessibility, improved pedestrian safety, more affordable and accessible housing, and enhanced social connection programs. Additionally, significant concerns about safety and community connection were noted, reinforcing the need for targeted community-building and safety improvements across the District.
