Growing Food, Growing Community Intergenerational Gardening Pilot Program

Gardens offer great opportunities not only to grow fresh fruits and vegetables, but also to meet your neighbors.  This year, Age-Friendly DC, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Office of the State Superintendent for Education are partnering in an effort to connect residents of all ages and abilities who want to garden with spaces and opportunities to do so. Gardening spaces can include school gardens, community gardens, private backyards, or any space where there is an opportunity to grow food.

If you are intersted in gardening or if you know of gardening space where volunteers are needed, please take a look at the flyer which urges you to sign up by April 20th.
