Let your voice be heard! Tell us what needs to be addressed and prioritized to make DC a more livable city for all ages. Join friends and neighbors at a Community Consultation to talk in small groups about policies and priorities for the next Age-Friendly DC Strategic Plan.
Volunteer facilitators will lead discussions covering 12 overarching topic areas:
- Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
- Social Participation
- Respect and Social Inclusion
- Civic Participation and Employment
- Communication and Information
- Community Support and Health Services
- Emergency Preparedness and Resilience
- Elder Abuse, Neglect, Fraud, and Other Legal Issues
- Food Security
Consultation sessions will take place across the city between February and April.
We also invite those who are interested in doing so, to arrange their own Community Consultation. This can be done through any group or organization you are a part of, or by simply gathering a number of friends and neighbors together and going through the Consultation process. The ideal number of people to have in any one small group discussion is between 5-8. You will need one person to facilitate the discussion and one person to take notes of what is said. Consultations that are larger than this should plan to break into multiple small groups with facilitators and notetakers in each. If you are interested in hosting a Consultation and have not gone through our Community Consultation Facilitator Training, please email [email protected] or call 202-727-2736.
