Age-Friendly Businesses

The World Health Organization and AARP are working together with the Mayor’s office to highlight businesses that provide accessible facilities, friendly personnel, quality products and services to the 50+ demographic of Washington, DC.

Age-Friendly businesses recognize the spending power adults who are 50 and older. Older adults are major consumers. Smart businesses are marketing to older adults, who tend to be loyal customers. Businesses that use Age-Friendly best practices attract customers of all ages.

Please help DC to become Age-Friendlier by:

  1. Shopping at Age-Friendly Businesses

  2. Nominating a business that you believe should become an Age-Friendly Business by sending an email to Gail Kohn: [email protected].

  3. Applying now, if you are a business owner by completing the Age Friendly Business Application Form

To find out more, please contact Gail Kohn, Age-Friendly DC Coordinator, for more information. Mail all paper applications to John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 223, Washington DC, 20004.
