(Washington, DC) On Tuesday, June 20, at 10:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will host the Senior Symposium, an annual event that will provide a platform for seniors, caregivers, and professionals to pioneer ways to grow resources, advance education, and promote advocacy. Since taking office in 2015, Mayor Bowser has launched a range of innovative initiatives that support the city’s senior residents, including launching Safe at Home, a program that helps seniors age in place, and Age-Friendly DC – a coordinated, comprehensive, and collective effort that helps residents stay active and healthy. The Mayor has also made significant investments in housing, health, public safety, and economic stability programs.
As a part of Back to Basics DC, an effort to highlight the day-to-day work that keeps the District moving forward, the Mayor will continue to highlight the work of DC government employees, showcase innovations in service delivery, and share information about how the community can help the government keep Washington, DC a great place to call home.
